    The SOBER Project
The SOBER Project’s structure is similar to Alcoholics Anonymous or other recovery group programs, but its driving force sets it apart significantly. SOBER is not anonymous. People who come to SOBER are not ashamed of its weekly group meetings or its Sunday service. Also, Jesus Christ is unapologetically the higher power people hear about when they come to a SOBER meeting. The result has been an average of 30 baptisms a month at the church’s monthly Dunk ‘n Dine at a community pool.
    Roadtrip to Clarkston Georgia

Road Trip to Clarkston, Georgia Project Description: Imagine being dropped into the fast-paced world of a culture you’ve only heard about second hand, where the language and living create a whirlwind of confusion. This is the life of many refugees who’ve been deposited in American culture, a cacophonous mosaic

    NAMB's Strategic Mission Plan

Taking the Middle School Ground in Canada
Kathy Howard had three good reasons not to lead a Bible study at her daughters middle school in Cochrane, Alberta. "I was already extremely busy in ministry," Kathy said. For years she has led womens Bible studies and loved it. "I have never liked working with kids. Teens intimidate me," Kathy confessed. "And I didnt want the hassle of dealing with public school administration." When her daughter Kelley was nearing the end of sixth grade, she asked if her mother would lead a Bible study so her friends could hear about Jesus. Kathy didnt even pray about it.

Baptist Men on Mission issue call to prayer
Recognizing both the power of prayer and the urgent need for men to pray, the North American Mission Board is issuing a call for Baptist men to engage in focused prayer in January.
    MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT

Feed me till I want no more By Kima Jude Around the globe, in places like Africa and India, hunger often parades naked — exposed by gaunt faces, skeletal ribs and the paradox of bellies swollen to conceal their emptiness. We look at photos of the world's most famished places and people, sometimes enveloped in cl

    New Church
Pastor’s path Pastor Daniel Wong served on staff of a growing Chinese church in Sacramento four years ago leading a successful youth ministry. Today he serves as a church planter, ministering to a low-income community. The church started because of “a restlessness in my heart.” When his former church decided to move to a new facility in another community, he had a concern there would be no church to serve the Meadowview neighborhood.
    Livestock 4 Missions
One cow + one rancher = an interesting way to fund missionaries. Three years ago in the Western Kansas Baptist Association, Director of Missions Randy Caddell and missionary Tim Huffman came up with a business model where cows could help fulfill the Great Commission. They call it Livestock 4 Missions (L4M), and the results have been moooving to say the least. Here’s how

Hawaiiis a place of great natural beauty and man-made opulence. Just say the word and images come to mind of Waikiki, that famous stretch of shoreline, white sand, and blue water rimmed by some of the finest hotels in the world. But, that’s not what missionary Chris Woodall sees when he looks at his island home. He sees a mission field. “When you get away from Waikiki and get back into the communities it’s just like anywhere else,” he says. “There are real people who have real hurts and needs.”

    Communicating Missions

    Stay on tract
If someone had mentioned the idea of tract distribution to me in years past, I probably would have shaken my head and given them a disdainful look. I've always associated this method of witnessing with those who are less than tactful and force their faith on others rather than sharing it with them. It seemed to me that it made little sense to try to share the good news with people you had only known for a few seconds. After all, don't people prefer to hear things like that from friends?
How to host a backyard bible club

How to host a backyard bible club By Denise Boiko If you ever attended Vacation Bible School as a child, you’ll recall the fun of wearing sandals and shorts to church, consuming cookies and Kool-Aid, hearing Bible stories and creating crafts. A valuable ministry of the church, VBS had one shortcoming:

    Missionary Spotlight: Brad Lartigue

I’s early Sunday morning as Brad Lartigue begins pulling on his snowboarding pants and warmest all-weather jacket. He’s getting ready to hit the slopes, but not in the way you might think. Brad, a North American resort missionary, is headed up the mountain to Big Sky Ski Resort—where he works on the volunteer ski patrol and as resort chaplain—to conduct an outdoor worship service.
