“In eastern Canada there’s a spiritual void,” says North American missionary Gary Smith. Toronto is the hub of commerce in Canada. People come from all over the world to live and work there. “Chinese are one of the largest people groups in Toronto yet over 95% of them are unchurched.” In Montreal only one half of 1% of the population are evangelical Christians, according to Smith. You can drive through 1,000 communities in Quebec—spread across hundreds of miles—and find no evangelical church. Pray for Gray Smith as he works to share Christ and plant churches in eastern Canada. Lift up the new churches that have been started and ask God to work mightily in the lives of new Christians.
