    So Clearly
    Stereo Deluxx
    Organic Records
    1999

Club and Techno music arent just for teens anymore. And as Gen Xers get older, the term "adult contemporary pop" is being stretched to include music thatjust a few years agowould be relegated to the fringe.

One of the Christian bands embracing that trend is Stereo Deluxx. Musically, with their throbbing backbeat and quirky techno effects, theyd be right at home in secular clubs. However, its the lyrics that are clearly (pun intended) heard over those beats and effects that make So Clearly stand out. The opening cut, "I Dont Know," goes straight for the jugular and knocks the shaky foundation out from under the postmodern worldview:

    So many avenues enchanting me
I think Im at the brink of a new discovery
    Im driving round in circles
    You drew me a map
And there are two ways I can go
    One is wide
    The other straight and narrow

While much of club and techno music is filled with references to sex and spiritual angst, Stereo Deluxx cuts through the murk to plainly tell the truth that "God has shown His love to you "

If your list of people with whom youd like to share your faith includes fans of modern pop music, share a copy of So Clearly with them as a loaner or a gift. Maybe they too will claim the lyrics from the title song:

    So clearly, so clearly
You speak Your peace to me
    So clearly, so clearly
You open up my eyes for me to see
