Believers are exhorted in scripture to be prepared to give an answer, and in Help Me Believe, author and pastor Cliffe Knechtle answers several critical questions. For more than 20 years, Knechtle has traveled to college and university campuses to dialogue with students as an open-air evangelist for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. From Harvard to Stanford, groups of 25 to 500 have queried Knechtle about difficult and important issues.

In an earlier book, Give Me an Answer, Knechtle dealt with 40 of the most frequently asked questions about the hurts, doubts, struggles and conflicts of seekers. In this second book with a similar format, he answers 39 questions that fall into nine categories, such as truth, forgiveness, evil, relationships, God and Jesus.

I have become more convinced than ever that people are looking for real meaning in life, solid and lasting relationships, ultimate purpose and truth that you can count on in any situation and for the long haul, Knechtle says. From that foundation he proceeds to answer questions like Why is it so hard to forgive? and What gives you the right to impose your morality on others? with answers grounded in scripture.
