    The Master Plan of Evangelism
    By Robert E. Coleman
    Revell / Baker Book House
    1963
    (30th anniversary edition, 1993)
    200 pages

During the three years of Jesus ministry on earth, He set in place a model for evangelism that literally swept the world. He did it without the Internet, without television, without mass media of any kind. He didnt even have a public address system. He did it by training a small core of disciples who became the basis for His global objective.

This master plan that Christ set in place is still the most effective way of multiplying our evangelistic efforts, but too often it has been replaced by campaigns, crusades and other programs that sometimes place more emphasis on numbers than individuals. The heart of Christs ministry was to individuals and small groups.

In this classic book, Coleman examines the gospel accounts to identify Jesus leadership strategy in preparing the 12, and then the 70, to go out and spread the good news of the gospel.

Beginning with the selection process, Coleman looks at how Jesus developed this core group to carry on His divine plan when He would no longer be physically present to lead them.

A 13-week study guide by Roy J. Fish helps churches define and implement this model with their own core group of ministry-minded believers.

Coleman has also published a companion book, The Masters Way of Personal Evangelism, which studies Jesus personal evangelism style.
