I was one of five kids who came up with the idea of CrossWalk. We had no idea it would have such an impact on Florida and on us. It impacted Florida by bringing a lot of people to the Lord. But the way it impacted me personally was that it helped me to set a goal and then follow through.

I want to change the world! I know that sounds big, but my God is big. I want to show people that they matter to God. So many kids don't realize that. They think that if they haven't been living for God already, they've blown it. But they haven't. No matter what we've done, He never turns His back on us, He wants us back.

I started a prayer group at my school. To get it going, a friend and I talked to a teacher. Only three kids came to the first meeting. But every week it's grown a little bigger. It's gotten around by word of mouth, through the school announcements, by distributing fliers and, of course, by telling kids about it at CrossWalk.

My best friend, Cynthia, and I have been talking every day about the Lord. She had turned her back on God and was living for the world. I think it was rebellion because of her parents' divorce and some problems with alcoholism in her family. But I wouldn't let her use those excuses. I told her she had to make a decision on her own. We've talked and prayed almost every day. Instead of going out partying, we go to youth rallies. Now comes the exciting part: not only did she rededicate her life, she's joined the church and wants to get involved with missions!
