Michael Henson serves as a church planter missionary in Chino Hills, California, where he and his wife, Brenda, are seeking to reach the African-American community through outreach to nonbelievers and through the mentoring of other church planters and leaders. As African-American Church Starting Strategist, Michael is working to build a force of leaders who can start new congregations throughout the area. • Pray that existing churches will become more involved as partners in church planting as they fulfill the Great Commission by serving and loving their community toward a relationship with Jesus Christ. Pray that God will raise up leaders to reach their communities through church plants. Also, pray for Brenda as she works to support Michael's ministry and reaches out to the student population at the high school where she teaches English.

Greg Frizzell wants to see a spiritual awakening spread across Oklahoma. As the specialist of prayer and spiritual awakening at the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, Greg writes resources and leads churches in conferences that help them take an inward look at their spiritual state. "I want to see churches go through revival not because of a program or event but because they allowed God to cleanse them, unite them and use them for His glory," Greg says. "This is the only way Oklahoma or any state will experience God's spirit the way the first century church did." He says the key components to effective missions and evangelism work are personal holiness, deeper prayer life and unity among the believers. • Pray for spiritual revival in Oklahoma and all of North America.

quebec

In a city of 3.7 million, Montreal is only an estimated 0.5 percent evangelical, and Luc Aube is working to change that. Luc is pastor of the Impact Church, a bilingual French/English church reaching out to the 250,000 college students in the metropolitan area. As a US/C2 missionary serving through the Canadian Convention of Southern Baptists, Luc is seeking to win the hearts and minds of a skeptical but softening group of students who are coming to Christ and, in turn, working to transform their campuses. "I discovered Impact Church while I was working toward my MA at McGill University," Luc says. "Now I serve as pastor, and amazing things continue to happen." • Pray for Luc as he seeks to be a light in such a spiritually dark place and that he continues to reach Montreal's growing student population. Also, pray for Quebec and that Impact and other ministries would be effective in transforming the province.

florida

Amaury and Stephanie Santos live in Ocala, Florida, in the north-central region of the state, where Amaury is a Language Church Planting Missionary with the Florida Baptist Convention. As the population of non-English speaking language groups grows in the region, Amaury equips and encourages churches to reach the variety of cultures moving into and growing in their communities. • Pray for the Santos and for the churches in their region that congregations would see the need and open their doors and hearts to starting language churches in their communities. Also, pray for Stephanie, their two sons and their family's outreach to their local area.

texas

Eduard and Joy Valdez serve in Dallas, Texas, a city more than 35 percent Hispanic. As Hispanic Ministries Coordinator for the Dallas Baptist Association, Eduard is training leaders to start new Hispanic congregations in Dallas and Rockwall counties. Eduard also provides training for existing congregations to make them more effective in their outreach. By facilitating cooperation and fellowship among local churches and pastors, Eduard hopes to strengthen the ministry to local Hispanic communities and to provide professional and academic training for leaders in Christian ministries. "We want to connect churches with the association to equip, empower and enable them to do missions, evangelism and church planting," Eduard says. "We want to plant 15 new Hispanic congregations in our county, so we are eager to find those leaders who are ready for the task." • Pray for 15 devoted church planters and for 20 sponsor churches who can join the church planting vision.
