SnackPack Missions
The North American Mission Board has launched a free service called SnackPack Missions for children in grades 1 to 5. The “DIME” strategy is to provide 32 Drop-In Mission Ed lessons for use in existing co-ed programs such as children’s worship, sermonettes, homeschooling, Awana, Upward Sports, TeamKID, and augment existing missions programs. Each lesson is about 15-20 minutes and may be easily adapted. Each lesson plan features a learning activity, lesson, and a challenge that encourages children to become involved in missions. In addition, each lesson has an optional parent letter that engages parents in what their children are learning. One in four lessons presents the gospel. SnackPack Missions is available as free downloads online at www.namb.net/dime.
BackPack Missions
BackPack Missions is comprised of simple mission object lessons presented by a world trekking backpacker character, “BackPack Andy” who teaches a missions lesson using objects taken from his backpack. Object lessons are ideal for a camp, Backyard Bible Club, or outdoor settings. Download this free resource at www.namb.net/dime.

In Compelled by Love (New Hope, 2008), trusted missiologist Ed Stetzer and church planter Philip Nation challenge readers to look at love within the context of God, the church, and the lives of individual believers. Using a conversational tone and ample illustrations, the biblical ethic for missional ministry and living is moved from the pulpit to the pew. Selected as the 2008–2009 emphasis book for the WMU, it will give readers a basic theological grounding and a platform for personal application to understand what missional living is all about—the calling to love others and persuade them of the Gospel’s power.
Experiencing the Resurrection (Random House, 2008) by Drs. Henry and Melvin Blackaby invites readers to experience the living Christ moment by moment, first by exploring the resurrection in the mind and heart of God, then by revealing it through the life of Jesus, and finally by helping readers experience personally the peace, joy, power, authority, confidence and hope the resurrection can generate.
Culture Shift (Multnomah 2008) by Al Mohler connects biblical truth with daily events and choices. Mohler surveys the spiritual landscape of North America and explores how Christians can respond and engage a lost people.
